Raiding information for the Defenders of Fae

The veteran DoF raiders know all the routine that we're using on our raids by heart, but our raiding style may be something new for the other people - especially our new memmbers. This led me to the idea of writing a comprehensive guide about the way the Defenders of Fae raid. This article is the result.

I know that this whole article is very long, probably the longest one I have ever written. This post is meant to be comprehensive and it's meant to cover all aspects of our raiding. I am not expecting anyone to remember everything that this post contains. This post should give everyone a general idea about the way that we raid and it should also provide reference to everyone who is interested in more details about a particular area of raiding.

Everyone who has not raided with us very much recently should read the whole post. Although titles of some of the chapters may seem unimportant from a point of view of certain EverQuest classes, they all contain a lot of important information for everyone. For example, the chapter about pulling does not talk only about what pullers should do, but what everyone in the raid needs to do in order for pulling to work - so everyone, not just pullers, should be familiar with it.

Although this post (and especially some of its areas) may make you feel that our raiding rules are very strict, it's not really the case. We as a guild favor fun over anything else and I dare say that most of our raids are indeed fun. But when I was thinking what is the key to our success, I realized that it is the skill that we - both as a guild and as individuals - have. A lot of other guilds that I know depend on sheer numbers to win some encounters, but not us. Although sometimes we have not-so-good raids as well, we usually work on raids like a well-oiled machine. The skills that we have are the greatest asset of the Defenders of Fae.

Also, this article is not a dogma. One of the reasons we have gotten so far in raiding is that we were always able to discuss the ways of improving ourselves - and I hope this is going to be the case in the future as well. So, if anyone has a suggestion about what we could do better, or a question, or anything like that, feel free to post it.

To make it easier to read, this whole article is divided into several sections.

I hope this article will make our raids even better than they are now and I hope that people who want to learn something new will find what they need here.
